Where possible, we will work with supplying dealers and vehicle manufacturers to source orders from stock or pipeline, to reduce longer lead times.

Alphabet remains in close contact with its supplying manufacturers and dealers to ensure all orders are progressed in a timely manner. 

Some manufacturers are making changes to the standard specification of certain models to limit the impact of the shortage of semiconductor chips. Should your existing order be affected by this, you will be notified in due course.

If the manufacturer advises of any change in timings regarding new orders, your dealership, broker and/or Alphabet Representative will contact you.

If you would like to cancel your existing order, please contact your Alphabet Representative with your order number and reason for cancellation. We will then speak to the relevant dealership or manufacturer. 

Alphabet will not charge a fee to cancel your order, but the dealership or manufacturer may charge a cancellation fee depending on the stage of the vehicle build and/or the vehicle specification. Any finance agreement relating to a cancelled order will also be cancelled.

Yes, these shortages are affecting the supply and availability of both lease and short term rental vehicles.

Alphabet remain in close contact with our preferred rental partners to keep any disruption to a minimum and to ensure we are doing everything to fulfil your reservations and support both you and your drivers.

To support your mobility during this period, we have compiled some guidance for your short term rental bookings to help ensure minimal disruption:

• Please continue to use our online booking platform where possible to place your bookings
• Book in advance and provide us with as much notice as possible
• Be flexible with your requests where possible (for example: vehicle group, delivery type, walk-ins, start times etc.)
• For any bulk order requirements, please continue to place the reservations using our online booking platform and also inform our AlphaRent team by email on alpha.rent@alphabet.co.uk. This will allow the team to liaise with our Mobility Consultants, who in turn will endeavour to source vehicles that meet your requirement(s)
• If you are likely to require a number of short term hires in succession, please consider extending your original booking to ensure you keep the right vehicle for your needs
• If you have rental vehicles currently running on a TBA basis, please advise if you would like to extend for a longer period of time in order to help and support with future availability
