This might seem like a daunting task, but you don’t need to worry. We’ve been helping businesses like yours effortlessly electrify their fleets since 2014. And the best place to start is to see what options are available.

What's Alphabet's range of electric vehicles?

Today, we have 58,500+ electrified vehicles on our books. In fact, at the time of writing, every one in three of our vehicles is now either partially or fully electric, which also account for 69% of all new car orders. Plus, we’re expecting 2024 to be another year of charged EV growth, as we continue our mission to help customers make positive progress towards their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) targets.

But, because no two company’s eMobility strategies are the same, we have an extensive range of vehicles available. This includes BEVs and PHEVs, along with traditional ICEs (for now – to make the transition to electric smoother before the 2035 deadline). If you’re not sure what those terms mean, here’s a handy explanation for each.

BEV:
Battery Electric Vehicle.

This is a vehicle that runs on battery power alone, through an electric motor. This means there is no internal combustion engine or fuel tank. Instead, you charge the battery using a plug-in point, which can be as simple as a standard 120-volt outlet (commonly found in homes) or a fitted home charger, specifically designed to charge your vehicle.

Being fully electric, BEVs produce zero emissions. So, they’re perfect for meeting fast-approaching sustainability targets and deadlines. BEVs also tend to have bigger batteries than other vehicles.

PHEV:
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

This is a vehicle with both a combustion engine and an electric motor, that can be charged via a public or private charger. They usually have smaller electric range than a BEV, but are a great stepping-stone option for businesses that aren’t ready to go fully electric.

ICE:
Internal Combustion Engine.

These are vehicles that traditionally run on petrol or diesel. We understand different businesses have different needs, so if you’re not yet in a position to transition your whole fleet to electric, we still include a great range of ICEs in our portfolio.
